Chandigarh-Mohali, June 20- Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said that 27 accused agents have been arrested for illegally sending youths to abroad regarding which the cases are registered in various districts of the State and Rs 35.33 lakh has been recovered from their possession.
Vij said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the State Government has been investigating the cases registered in the previous years also. Under which, some travel agents had illegally sent the youth of the state to USA during 2018-19, where they were taken into police custody and sent to jail. After spending a long time behind bars, they were deported and sent to India by the US Government.
Taking cognizance of their grievances, 254 cases were registered against such agents by the police. Apart from this, 156 new cases against illegal immigration have been registered and SIT is investigating all such cases.
SIT Chief Mrs. Bharti Arora said that 11 accused have been arrested till June 8, and now the total number of 27 accused have been arrested so far. A sum of Rs. 35.33 lakh has been recovered from their possession. Arrests are continuously made against the accused after registering various cases under various sections of the Immigration Act.
She said that Om Prakash, the accused in 12 registered cases in Karnal, have been arrested and 1.90 lakh have been recovered from his possession. Om Prakash has sent many State youths abroad under illegal immigration. Apart from this, he is also accused of human trafficking and the case regarding the same is registered against him.
Similarly, a wanted to be accused in 5 such cases, Deepak Narwal, was arrested in Panipat and Rs 1.48 lakh was recovered from his possession.
Mrs. Arora said that the accused Somnath Gaba was arrested in Nigdhu village of Karnal district and Rs 22.50 lakh was recovered from his possession. Similarly Amit Vashisth, the accused has been arrested from Madhuban, She added. Similarly, the duo accused, Ravindra Kumar and Hardeep have been arrested from Jabalpur.
Similarly, accused Ram Singh, Sube Singh, Jagdish, Amit, Rajendra, Vikram from Bhiwani, Balwan Singh from Panipat and Mahesh from Ambala, Kiran wife of Shinderpal from Jalandhar in Punjab, Aman Verma from Jagraon in Punjab, Sukhdeep Singh, Rammehar residents of Dadupar and Vishal, a resident of Bhadra district Panipat have been arrested Mrs. Arora said.
