Jalandhar, October 9, 2018 ( By SK.Vyas) : As a part of its ongoing drive against vector borne diseases under‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ in the district, the anti-larva cell of the Health department and the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar today detected cases of 30 dengue larva in various localities.
Various teams of anti-larva cell led by Mr. Sukjinder Singh, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Kamaldeep, Naresh Kumar, Gurvinder Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Sarabjeet and others undertook checking in Maqdoompura, JP Nagar, Preet Nagar, Surya Enclave, Guru Nanak Pura West, Raj Nagar, Basti Bawa Khel, Hargobind Nagar, Jaswant Nagar, Thakur Singh Colony, Kamal Vihar and other localities. During the checking, the team checked 570 houses, 288 waste containers and 131 air coolers.
The team detected dengue larva at 30 places including six at Maqdoompura, four at JP Nagar, six at Preet Nagar, three at Raj Nagar, four at Basti Bawa Khel, two each at Hargobind Nagar, Jaswant Nagar and Thakur Singh Colony, one at Kamal Vihar and others.
The team also had detailed interaction with the people during which they apprised them that these places could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
