HMV celebrated Lohri Dhiyan Di

Jalandhar January 12 ( By SK.Vyas)- Setting up novel traditions and leading the way to women empowerment, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, the premier institute of North India, celebrated ‘Lohri Dhiyan Di’ under the vibrant leadership of Principal Prof. Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen in collaboration with Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Dean Academics Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur, Dean Youth Welfare Mrs. Navroop and Coordinator of the event Dr. Nidhi Bal welcomed Sh. Arvind Mishra, Chairman, Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission, Mrs. Shruti Shukla, State Coordinator, Guidance and Counselling, Punjab, Mr. Sushil Rinku, M.L.A. West, IPS Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Harsimranjit Bunty, Deputy Mayor and Mr. Ramesh Lakhanpal with planter. After the pious notes of DAV Anthem, the event initiated with the lighting of the lamp.
Sh. Arvind Mishra said that HMV is pioneer in the field of innovations and the right place for this celebration. Ms. Shruti Shukla in her address said that the very name of the word ‘Beti’ evokes the feeling of love, passion and delicacy. They need to be given respect and they will reciprocate it immensely.
Elaborating on the concept of the event, Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen highlighted the role played by Arya Samaj, Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Mahatma Hans Raj Ji in the field of girl education. Inspired by these stalwart and motivated by Dr. Punam Suri, Padmashree Awardee, President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, HMV is dedicated to empower and strengthen girls. She said that a progressive change has come in the society and she is optimistic that the future will present a new picture of society. Raising a new slogan ‘Beti Padhayo and Beta Samjhayo’ she urged that the birth of both girl as well as boy child should be celebrated. She also praised the positive change that has come in the minds of male counterparts.
On this occasion, 10 outstanding artists of HMV Tanya, Surbhi, Laj, Gursimran, Gurkanwal, Surbhi, Varunjit, Sukhmani and Navjot were honoured. Ms. Rama Sharma, Ms. Archana Bhalla, Ms. Bhavna Sandal, Ms. Neetu Mehra, Ms. Chahat, Ms. Simran, Ms. Loveleen and Baby Kanika were also honoured by Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission. Sarv Sukh Sewa Mission honoured Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen for her valuable contribution in the field of girl education.
The audience ebulliently enjoyed the cultural performance of Kulbir Singh, Raghav Kapoor, Deep Sandhu, Dalvinder Dayalpuri and Davinder Babloo. Mr. Bhotu Shah entertained all with his hilarious performance. Students of HMV presented dances, songs and choreography based on girl child. Mr. Sushil Rinku, MLA West announced a sum of Rs.21000/- on the said event.
The occasion was graced by Mr. S.K. Saxena, Mr. Sukhdev Singh, Mr. Jagmohan, Mr. Jagdish Samrai, Mr. Sucha Singh, Sai Madhu Shah, Ms. Lipika, Ms. Uma Beri, Bunny Sharma and Mr. Jaswinder Azad. Towards the end everybody enjoyed the warmth of holy bonfire and recited Lohri couplets.
