ADC DISTRIBUTES 300 SANITARY NAPKINS IN JAMSHER KHAS GOVERNMENT GIRLS SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOl

JALANDHAR, November 05,2018 ( By SK.Vuas) : Aimed to promote menstrual hygiene among girls’ students under Tandarust Punjab Mission, the district administration on Monday distributed 300 sanitary napkins  to girls in Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Jamsher Khas village of the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (Development)  Jitendra Jorwal was the chief guest of the function and detailed the girls’ about the importance of maintaining hygiene during the menstrual cycle.

He said that poor and underprivileged girls still use old clothes as napkins in rural areas and there is a need to raise the level of hygiene among the girls.

ADC appreciated Common Service Centre (CSC) for the cause and invited the other private companies to come forward and contribute under the Corporate Social Responsibility program by providing sanitary napkins to the girls.

He said that the initiative would enhance the knowledge among the girls about the safety, security, and health. Further, the awareness would ensure that the adolescent girls have adequate information about menstrual hygiene and the use of sanitary napkins of high-quality.

Moreover, he asserted that this program would also help to check absenteeism in the schools.

On this occasion, CSC district manager  Gurpreet Singh and Anita were present.
