Jalandhar September 13,2018 (By SK.Vyas ) : Continuing its drive against vector-borne diseases in the city, a joint team of the health department and Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) detected 20 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city.
Six teams of anti-larva wing led by Raj Kumar, Sarbjeet, Naresh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Piyara Lal and others carried the inspection in Model Town, Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, New Amar Nagar, Dakoha, Golden Colony and Thakur Singh Colony.
During the checking, the teams covered a population of 1350, visited 316 houses, checked 127 air coolers, 89 waste containers and 20 abundant lying tyres. The teams also carried spray in 480 rooms.
The team members interacted with the local residents and asked them to refrain from storing water in containers and air coolers as it could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes that were the carriers of diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
The team members also informed the people about the ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ that was aimed at ensuring the overall wellness of the people of the district.
