CHANDIGARH–The eighth Monthly Ration Distribution program was organized by Balramji Dass Tandon Charitable Foundation wherein 1-month ration kits were distributed to 45 Widows at their doorsteps.

The one-month Ration Kit includes 10kg Flour, 1.5kg Rice, 1.5kg Sugar, 2kg Pulses, one bottle Mustard Oil, 250gm Tea leaves, 1kg Salt, 100gm Turmeric, 100gm Spices, 100gm Coriander, 100gm Cumin, 500gm Oatmeal, 500gm Gram Flour, 400gm Soyabean, 4 Bathing Soap, 1 Shampoo, 1 Tooth Paste, 2 Tooth Brush, 6 pkts Biscuits, 1 bottle Pickle, 500ml Milk Powder, 5 kg Potatoes and 2 kg Onions, as per the Ration Card given/issued to them.

Monthly Ration Distribution scheme was started by President of Balramji Dass Tandon Charitable Foundation, Sanjay Tandon and the program is held on the first Sunday of every month. The first three programs ( i.e. for months of January to March) were organized at village Khuda Ali Sher, Chandigarh where the Ration Kits were distributed to the families of Widows through the signatories.

But in the end of March due to Covid-19, Chandigarh was placed under Curfew/Lock Down, but the foundation did not stop its distribution work and for the last four months (i.e. April to July) the Ration Kits were delivered to the widows at their respective houses. Along with Ration Kits, Immunity Booster Homeopathic Medicines were also provided to keep them safe and healthy from COVID19.

The count of widow families which started with 26 in the month of January 2020, has now increased to 45 and all these families were distributed one-month ration kits for the month of August 2020 today by delivering the same to them at their doorsteps.
