CBI conducts seaerches in Chit fund cases at 11 places in North 24 Parganas of the State of West Bengal

New Delhi, July, 22,2019: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today conducted searches in on-going investigation of a chit fund case at 11 different places in the district of North 24 Parganas of the State of West Bengal, Patna (Bihar), Agartala (Tripura) and New Delhi, including office premises of the company, residential premises of the accused persons etc. During the searches, several incriminating documents have been recovered.

The investigation is continuing.

This case was registered on 13.06.2017 U/s 420, 406 & 120 B of IPC against Shri Partha Chakraborti & others of M/s.Chakra Infrastructure Ltd. in accordance with the Orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. It was alleged that the accused person’s collected huge amounts as deposits from the public on assurance to repay the amounts with a high rate of interest. But the accused persons did not repay and closed down the Offices and thereby cheated the investors and misappropriated the public money invested by depositors. The amount involved in the scam is Rs. 87 crore(approx).
