CI seizes empty Pakistani boat from Satluj River  Ferozepur, August 2, 2018:  The Counter Intelligence sleuths seized one empty Pakistani boat with engraved in the Urdu language, in Satluj River today looks to be abandoned near Indo-Pak international border.  At the first look, it appears to be a fishing boat but the intelligence agencies are investigating from the alert notice in the country in view of coming Independence Day celebrations in India on 15th August.

The boat was found by the CI team, led by Tarlochan Singh SI working under the tutelage of Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu, AIG, Counter Intelligence, during patrolling in the creek area and identified to be of Pakistan as in Urdu language the word – Meer Mubarak Ali Jaan – has been engraved with beautiful design around it. Since the boat was lying unattended, officials believe that the occupants might have fled in other boats.  However, the incident raises suspicion as the boat was found the way inside the Indian waters near Ali Ke village.

Speaking to media persons, SI said, a tip-off was received by us that a Pakistani boat is entering into Indian Territory. The boat looks to be of Pakistani since some words in the Urdu language have been carved. We are investigating into the matter, the purposing of entering of this boat in our territory.   However, ‘no suspicious; item was found on the boat and prima facie the boat drifted to India inside but it could be suspected to be used for the smuggling of drugs.
