New Delhi, June 29,2020: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday paid tribute to a senior doctor of the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, who died on Sunday after contracting the COVID-19 earlier in June while treating patients infected with the virus.
CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Dr. Aseem Gupta, a senior doctor of LNJP Hospital succumbed to COVID y’ day. He was known for going out of his way to serve his patients. We have lost a very valuable fighter. Delhi salutes his spirit and sacrifice. I just spoke to his wife and offered my condolences and support.”
CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “Dr. Aseem Gupta is an inspiration for us, and the people of Delhi and the people of the entire country salute him for his spirit and his sacrifice. In his honor, the Delhi government will provide his family an honorary compensation of Rs. 1 crore. There is no value attached to anyone’s life, people like him smile along the way of sacrificing their lives in serving the people and the country, but this compensation is a small tribute to him on behalf of the people of Delhi and the country.”
