Jalandhar, January 13, 2020:The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police D Sudarvizhi today celebrated the festival of Lohri with full fervor along with the staff of Police Division Number 8.
During the celebrations, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police said that the solemn festival of Lohri was celebrated with full enthusiasm across the state. She said that the festival has immense significance in northern India as it strengthens the ethos of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood in the society. Sudarvizhi said that all ranks of the Police force were celebrating this festival today here at the Police station.
Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police accompanied by Assistant Commissioner of Police Jasbinder Singh and Station House Officer Sukhjit Singh also lit the bonfire as a part of the sacred tradition to celebrate the festival. They also distributed sweets and groundnuts to the employees at the Police station for sharing the joy. On the occasion, the entire staff led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police also pledged to keep the city crime-free, safe and secure.
