Jalandhar, July 28-The total number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the city today reached 1622 after 77 more patients were discharged from the different hospitals and few of them completed their home isolation period on Tuesday.
Today, 77 discharged patients include ten from Civil Hospital, 29 from Covid Care Centre, 13 from Military Hospital, seven from BSF Hospital and three from private hospital.
Meanwhile, 15 patients completed their home isolation period today. These patients were in isolation at homes under the supervision of health teams and successfully completed their active home quarantine period today.
Now the district has now 453 active cases and 44 fatalities.
The recovered patients appreciated the hard work and sheer commitment of the doctors, nurses and health workers during the course of their treatment. They also hailed the state government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for ensuring sufficient arrangements for quality treatment to them.
Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori said that the district administration has chalked out a detailed program to arrest the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that focused efforts are being made for early detection and isolation through aggressive testing and efficient clinical management.
He called upon people to remain cautious and follow physical distancing, respiratory etiquettes, and meticulous hand hygiene and avoid touching face, eyes and nose.
