MP, DC and SSP lauds effort of Jagran group
Several awards winning movies to be screened during three days fest
Jalandhar, August 24, 2018 ( By Madhur Vyas): Ninth Jagran film festival today began here at the local KL Saigal Memorial Hall with great pomp and show as a number of people from various walks of life attended this mega event, which started with the screening of the Black Prince movie.
Lok Sabha Member from Jalandhar Chaudhary Santokh Singh in his inaugural address lauded the initiative of the Jagran group to take this lead for the movie lovers. He said that it was indeed a proud moment for all of us. Chaudhary Santokh Singh also hailed the massive contribution being made by the Jagran group to spread awareness on various issues including making the people aware against various social maladies. He said that it was heartening to learn that award-winning movies have been meticulously selected for the viewers.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal also complimented the group for this path-breaking initiative.
Pertinently during this three days, film festival several award-winning films would be screened for the audience. Starting with The Black Prince today on Saturday International movies including Far from Men would be exhibited at 10 am , Ask the Sexpert at 11:45 am, Kujh Bhige Alfaz at 1 pm, Punjabi movie Tala Kunji at 3 pm, Tu Hi Mera Sunday at 5 pm and Mujhe Chalte Jaana Hai would be screened at 7:15 pm. Likewise, on Sunday Irani movie Bodyguard would be screened at 10 am, Hindi short movies Morning Dew, Lakha, Humming Bird and Pashi at 12 noon, Turtle at 1:45 pm, Cheenu Kum at 3 pm, Raid at 5:30 pm and Lamhe would be screened at7:45 pm to be followed by the concluding event.
