Presiding over a meeting with the representatives of Indian Medical Association (IMA) , Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Kulwant Singh said that there is huge demand of the jobs in the health sector both from the employers that are hospitals and job seekers so the administration decided to hold a dedicated mega job fair only for this sector.
They said that the there are several kinds of jobs including nursing staff, x-ray technicians, Lab technicians, ECG technicians, dialysis technicians, ward attendants, ward boys, OT assistants, receptionist and others in the hospitals. They said that Multi Skill Development Centre (MSDC) in Leather Complex is also training the youths in various kinds of trades related to the hospitals.
They told that this job fair could play an important role in ensuring a single roof solution for the job seekers and job givers in the district.
They added that it will serve two purposes of providing jobs to needy youth of district on one hand and providing skilled manpower to cope up with the needs of local health industry on the other.
They solicited fulsome support and active participation of all hospitals in the mega job fair to make it a huge success.
On the occasion, Deputy Director Employment Sunita Kalyan, Deputy CEO Deepak Bhalla, Placement Officer Mangesh Sood, Career Counsellor Jasvir Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, IMA Punjab Chapter President-Elect Dr Navjot Dahiya, IMA District Head Dr Mukesh Gupta, Dr MS Bhutani, Dr Gagandeep Singh and others were present.
