Kapurthala, 29 July 2020: Deputy commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal has asked the people to opt for home delivery of goods on the Rakhi festival to avoid visit in the market .
Today on the live talk with people, the Deputy Commissioner said that due to a sharp rise in the Corona cases in the district from the last few days, the people should cooperate with the district administration by maintaining social distancing and following health protocol issued by the Punjab Government.
She also made it clear that as per the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, only shops of essential goods and sweets would open on August 2 ( Sunday) to facilitate the people on Rakhi festive.
Talking about the increase in COVID cases, she said that presently the district has 247 actives with 6 New cases today. It includes one from village Dyalpur, one from RCF who came from Jharkhand, one from Phagwara who came from Italy, one from village Bakar Khanpur, one from village Tibba and other from Onkar Nagar Phagwara.
It may also be mentioned here that today 336 samples were taken today at various PHC and CHCs.
