BOTH WERE PART OF INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM WHICH WON BRONZE IN ASIAN GAMES
Jalandhar, September 13, 2018 ( By SK.Vyas): Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and commissioner of police Praveen Kumar Sinha today felicitated two players of Surjit Hockey Academy who were part of the Indian Hockey Squad which won the Bronze medal in recently concluded Asian games.
Honouring the players Simranjit Singh and Krishna Pathak in a function organized by the Indian Oil Corporation here today, both Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction that these two players have brought laurels for the state and country through their extraordinary performance. They said that the marvelous performances by these budding players, who were employees of Indian Oil Corporation, would further inspire the young players to excel in the arena of sports and bring laurels for the country. They said that the Hockey team have made every Indian feel proud by their spectacular in the Asian games. They said that the Captain, coach, manager and every member of the Indian hockey team deserve applause for their outstanding performance.
Lauding the efforts made by Surjit Hockey Academy for grooming the players, they said that stupendous efforts of Surjit Hockey Society were really praiseworthy. They said that this academy has prepared a number of players who have proved their mettle by exhibiting their unbounded talent so that they could be further prepared for International events. They said that this was a great moment for the Indian sports as the Indian Hockey squad had made every Indian walk taller.
They expressed hope that such spectacular performances would go a long way in the regaining back the pristine glory of the national game of our country by inspiring our budding players to further excel in the game.
On the occasion, IOC’s DGMs Mr Kanwal Punj, Atul Gupta, IOC’s senior managers Iqbal Siddiqui, Opindr Jaiswal, Ranbir Singh Tut, Anup Tiwari, Kautki Bhalla and others were present.
