DC FELICITATES PEOPLE ON PARKASH PURAB OF SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI

Jalandhar, January 13, 2019 ( By SK.Vyas): Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar  Varinder Kumar Sharma today felicitated all the residents of the district on the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth master of Sikhs.

The Deputy Commissioner paid obeisance at the local Gurdwara Model Town and partook langar. Extending his warm greetings to the people, the Deputy Commissioner exhorted them to follow the noble teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said that Dasmesh Pita Ji was a true saint soldier who preached and practised the gospels of love, the oneness of mankind and universal brotherhood throughout his life. Sharma said that the creation of Khalsa by great Guru in 1699 had a universal significance as he raised a unifying vanguard force in the world ever ready to make supreme sacrifices for achieving the goals of justice, equality, social good and protection of fundamental rights of humanity.

The Deputy Commissioner also paid his tributes to the Guru ji’s unparalleled contribution for upholding the age-old traditions of secularism, besides safeguarding human rights and ensuring religious freedom, for which he sacrificed everything including his own family. He said that the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji were a unifying force to bind the entire country in an unbreakable social fabric.  Sharma further said that Sri GuruGobind Singh ji’s universal message of peace, humanity, love and brotherhood continued to be relevant even in the contemporary national and international scenario. He called upon the people to celebrate this auspicious occasion collectively rising above the petty considerations of caste, colour, creed and religion.

On the occasion, the Management of the Gurdwara Committee also presented a Robe of Honour (Siropa) to the Deputy Commissioner.
