District level function for oath taking ceremony of newly elected 880 sarpanchs and 5460 Panchs to be held in Nakodar on January 11

ADC reviews meeting for the mega event.

Nakodar (Jalandhar), January 8, 2019 ( Byu SK.Vyas): The Punjab government would hold a district-level function at the grain market Nakodar for administering the oath of the office to the newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs of Jalandhar on January 11.

          Divulging the details, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)  Jitendra Jorwal said that all the newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs would be administered the oath of their office in the impressive function to be organized here on Friday.  Jorwal, who was here to review the arrangements for the mega event, said that around 880 sarpanches and 5460 patches from across the district would attend the event besides the MP, MLAs and other dignitaries. He said that elaborate arrangement would be put in place for making this event a huge success.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that thousands of people would attend this event, due to which the district administration would leave no stone unturned for facilitating the people. He said that a proper mechanism would be evolved to ensure that people do not face any sort in inconvenience.  Jorwal said that right from traffic diversion, parking of vehicles and other facilities, all the arrangements would be made for this mega event.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the various officers/ officials have been assigned duties for smooth conduct of the event and the preparations for the gala event has already started. He asked the officers/ officials to make sure that their staff performs their duty diligently for smooth conduct of the event.  Jorwal said that any sort of callousness on part of the officers/ officials in performing the duty would be dealt sternly.

On the occasion Sub Divisional Magistrate Amit Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Ajay Kumar, District Mandi Officer Varinder Khera and others were also present.
