Jalandhar, May 15, 2018: A free dental check-up and awareness camp were organized at CT World School by Bindra Dental Clinic. The camp was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students and faculty about common dental problems, ailments, especially on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent them. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which could probably cause tooth decay. The students got ample opportunities to interact with the dentists to enquire and gain knowledge concerning oral diseases.
The team focused on how to keep overall oral hygiene and benefits of it including brushing and regular flossing. The team included Dr. Damandeep Singh Bindra, Dr. Baldip Multani, Dr. Divleen and Dr. Tammana along with support team staff members Ms. Sonia and Ms. Neha. They demonstrated how sticky foods damage the teeth and need to carry out regular dental checkups.
The professionals also highlighted about the possible formation of harmful acid which develops when bacteria (plaque) get in contact with sugar in the mouth which ultimately results in tooth decay. “Added sugars often are present in soft drinks, candies, cookies, pastries and therefore to help control the consumption of sugar one must read the food labels and choose the right foods and beverages that are low in added sugar”, Dr. Damandeep Singh Bindra said.
