Chandigarh, July 2, 2020: Haryana Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited, (HAFED), will be setting up an ‘Ultra Modern Mustard Oil Mill’ with a capacity of over 100 MT at Rampura in district Rewari. Besides this, a 20,000 metric ton warehouse will also be constructed on 5 acres of land in this campus. He stated that through modernization techniques, the crushing capacity of the existing oil mills at Rewari and Narnaul would also be enhanced.
The Minister shared this information while chairing the review meeting of works and projects being carried out by HAFED held here today.
In the meeting, he said that HAFED would also be setting up a modern turmeric plant and cold storage having a capacity of 500 MT at Taraori in district Karnal. He said that to increase its product range and for commercial sale, HAFED will launch Wheat Bran products. It will also set up a jaggery manufacturing unit at Assandh sugar mill.
During the meeting, Minister also reviewed the procurement of Wheat, Mustard, Sunflower And Gram and expressed his satisfaction on the efficient procurement of farmers’ crops done by State Government despite difficulties due to COVID-19 Pandemic. HAFED Managing Director and other officials were also present at the meeting.
