Chandigarh, June 26, 2020: Continuing with its crackdown on criminal elements, Haryana Police, in two separate incidents, have arrested two most-wanted criminals, carrying a collective reward of Rs 1.75 lakh.
While stating this here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that in the first operation, a police team in Nuh district had received specific inputs that a criminal wanted by the Gurugram and Nimach (Madhya Pradesh) police was present in Rihad village in Nuh. Acting on the tip-off, the police party immediately raided the location in the village and arrested a most-wanted Imran and his aide Naseem Khan alias Nassi after a brief exchange of fire. After a bullet injury in leg, Imran was admitted in hospital for treatment. Police have also received a country-made pistol from his possession.
Nimach and Gurugram Police had declared a reward of Rs50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively on the arrest of Imran.
In the second crackdown, Kaithal Police has arrested Ajay, a most-wanted rewarded criminal, convicted by the Court in a murder cade and a parole jumper, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, during a raid conducted by CIA team in Jalandhar, Punjab. Police have also arrested one another person who gave him shelter.
The arrested most wanted was wanted by Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Jind as well as police of other districts in close to a dozen cases including that of murder, attempt to murder, arms act, kidnapping and criminal conspiracy. He jumped parole after coming out of jail in 2016. To evade arrest, he was regularly changing his hideouts. Police got secret information about his location and finally managed to arrest him after a raid. He was in the most wanted list of Haryana Police, after it announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his arrest.
Cases against the accused have been registered under the relevant sections of IPC and further probe is underway.
