Three FIRs registered against the violators
Jalandhar, April 3, 2020: Using ultra-modern technology to nab the violators of the curfew, the Jalandhar Rural Police today registered three FIRs against perpetrators flouting the norms by spotting them through the drone.
Divulging the details, Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal said that three FIRs have been registered after drone deployed by the Jalandhar Rural Police spotter three violators flouting the norms. He said that drone spotted two violators at Kartarpur and one at Nakodar. Mahal said that more drones would be pressed into service and vigil through it would be enhanced.
The Senior Superintendent of Police said that the drone would be used to keep an eagle eye over the violators who would be flouting the curfew norms. He said that the drone was being stationed at strategic locations in Kartarpur, Shahkot, Nakodar, Phillaur, Nurmahal and others to keep an eye over the entire situation. He said that violations if any, noticed by the UAV would be dealt as per the law of land.
The Senior Superintendent of Police said that the move was aimed at ensuring strict compliance of curfew. He said that the curfew has been imposed for the betterment of people so that the spread of Covid 19 could be checked effectively.
Mahal said that every effort was being made to check the spread of this pandemic adding that these UAVs could cover the area of 2 kilometers in all directions and could go up to a height of 200 meters.
Meanwhile, the SSP said that Jalandhar Rural Police has lodged 167 FIRs against violators since imposition of curfew and has arrested 259 violators so far.
