Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sandeep Singh said that organizing of ‘Khelo India – 2021’ will be done in the last months of next year. This sports event will be organized in Panchkula, Haryana, next year after the completion of the Olympic Games. This information was given by the Sports Minister while interacting with media persons here today. He said that these games ‘Khelo India – 2021’ will be organized under the guidance of Chief Minister, Manohar Lal. For this, the outline of this event will soon be prepared after a meeting is held with the Chief Minister and senior officers. Singh said that sports complexes built in the Ambala district adjoining Panchkula can also be used for this event. Sports Minister said that players from all over the country will participate in ‘Khelo India – 2021’. Adequate arrangements regarding boarding and lodging for players will be planned soon after a meeting with the officials. Singh informed that he had visited the last Khelo India Games event held in Assam with a motive to see how these games are organized. After making close observation of that event out there, he had decided that the next ‘Khelo India’ games would be hosted by Haryana. He said that there is still one year left to organize these games, meanwhile, the required preparations can be completed for this event. Singh said that the games play a vital role to protect the young generation from drug abuse. If the parents will motivate their children to join sports, then their lives can be saved from drug abuse besides making their careers. The Government is making efforts at its level through Narcotic Cell to prevent drug-addiction. But it is very important to provide moral help to the youth which is only possible by a family, he added.
