KMV Celebrates Human Rights Day

Jalandhar,December10,2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 College  in India by India Today Ranking (in various categories) committed to social causes with a rich legacy of 134 glorious years have taken a lead to celebrate Human Rights Day. The event was organized jointly by the Department of Political Science, NSS Department & PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication. On this occasion, a lecture was delivered by Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi to the students regarding Human Rights. While addressing the students, she averred that Human Rights is a milestone document proclaiming the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to have regardless of race, colour, religion, gender and language etc. She also motivated the students to stand up for human rights and amplify their voices for promotion and protection of their rights.

She further explained to the students that how youth of India can stand up for rights and raise their voice against racism, bullying, discrimination and climate change etc. After the address of Madam Principal, an interactive session was also held in which inquisitive students asked their queries. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Department of Political Science, NSS Department & PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication for organizing the event to mark the celebration of Human Rights Day. It is important to mention that KMV from time to time organizes various awareness activities for the students so that the students should be able to understand the various social issues that exists in the society
