KMV Celebrates Pi Day

KMV Celebrates Pi Day Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 College in India by India Today Ranking (Various Categories) celebrated Pi Day.

To mark the celebrations, KMV organized Mathematical Rangoli Competition and Poster Making Competition. The competition was organized by the PG Department of Mathematics. The competition was based on the theme “Mathematics is Everywhere”. More than 75 students from undergraduate and postgraduate classes of Mathematics participated in this event. During the competition, the students beautifully designed the Rangoli using applications of Mathematics in medical sciences, nature, space, information technology, Vedic maths, cultural heritage, epidemics and sports etc.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students for their innovative ideas in making mathematical rangoli and posters in order to explore the world outside the classroom. She averred that such type of innovative activities inculcates a scientific temper in the students and also motivates them to explore the various dimensions of their subject. Madam Principal also lauded the efforts of PG Department of Mathematics for organizing the event.
