Jalandhar, March 31, 2020: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Seat of Women Empowerment, Ranked No.1 in India by India Today Ranking (various categories) has always taken a lead in the philanthropist activities in order to contribute to the welfare of the society. Nowadays when the whole world is reeling under the fear and threat caused by the pandemic COVID-19, KMV has come forth to play its part of an institution committed to serving humanity. Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that as we all know, a sea of humanity is in a dire condition of destitution and suffering due to the present crisis.
Therefore, KMV has sent more than 500 plates of cooked food, neatly packed with disposable packings for the people in need from KMV’s hostel kitchen. A team of 5 members, all covered fully with gears of precautions have gone out to distribute the food to the needy ones. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV will continue this practice on a regular basis till the crisis ends and normalcy prevails. She further maintained that it is the social responsibility of the students as well as the teachers of KMV to help the society through such crucial times & should try to contribute as much as possible to the society so that people should be able to face this crisis strongly & positively. It is worth a mention here that KMVites have also stitched and distributed more than 1000 masks to vendors, masses & police officials, etc.
