Moga, November 14,2019: Referring to the ‘Shakti’ mobile application launched by the Punjab Government, Member of National Commission for Women Dr Razulben L Desai on Thursday, exhorted the women of the state to make the best use of the technology to defend themselves.
Dr Razulben, who was here to review the government policies and schemes related to women said that now women don’t need to go to the police station to lodge any kind of complaint whether it’s of domestic violence, sexual assault, related to rising cybercrimes or any other issue. “The police are now a click away with the technology. One need just to install the mobile application and by using the application, women could seek the help of the police administration within minimum time,” she said.
She added that women can also email the National Commission for Women for any kind of help on the email id ‘email@example.com’.
Dr Razulben, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Moga Sandeep Hans and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Moga Amarjit Singh Bajwa reviewed the status of various government schemes including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Victim Compensation Fund Scheme, Pardhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna etc with the concerned officials and directed them to ensure the implementation of all the schemes at ground level.
She also directed officials to spread maximum awareness about all the women-oriented government schemes and policies that they can take benefit from it. She also directed officials to focus on providing quietly education at Government Schools and also educate children about the good and bad touch. She also told officials to sensitise the girl children about the Menstrual problems and disseminate proper guidance about its hygiene.
Meanwhile, Dr Razulben also visited the Sakhi One Stop Centre and Civil Hospital of Moga.
During the meeting, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) including Narinder Singh Dhaliwal (Moga), Swaranjeet Kaur (Baghapurana), Ram Singh (Nihal Singh Wala), District Programme Officer (DPO) Gurcharan Singh, District Social Security Officer (DSSO) Raj Kiran Kaur, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Paramjit Kaur, District Welfare Officer Harpal Singh Gill, District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) Jagtar Singh Sidhu, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Arvinderpal Singh Gill among other officials were present.
