Buses must display Permits plying on the roads-RTA

BUSES MANDATORY TO HAVE CCTV CAMERAS, GPS AND PANIC BUTTON

Jalandhar: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dr Nayan has directed that all the buses plying on the roads must display the permits on the vehicles in the manner prescribed by the state transport commissioner.

Divulging the details, Dr Nayan said that as per Punjab Transport Scheme 2018 section 7, the permits issued for a route shall carry the registration numbers of buses that are to ply on that route and permit shall be displayed on the vehicle.

She further said that as per section 10, all the buses must have CCTV cameras, GPS, radio frequency identification tags, panic buttons and vehicle tracking systems as per the standard protocol AS140.

RTA also added that all the timetables must have also permit numbers and bus numbers and asked all the private bus operators to submit the same in his office.
