Nawanshahr, July 28, 2020: Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla congratulated winners of Ambassadors of Hope (AoH) from SBS Nagar district, for their marvelous performance in the online talent hunt competition. While talking with the title holders over a video call, Mr. Singla also assured every possible help to them in achieving future goals. Notably, Gurwinder Singh, a class 12th student of Babbar Karam Singh Memorial Public Senior Secondary School, was declared first and will be getting an Apple iPad while Preeti, a class 12th student of Government Senior Secondary School Sarhala Ranuan, stood second and will get a laptop. Meanwhile, Gursimrat Kaur, a class 1 student of Sadhu Singh Shergill Maple Bear Canadian School Mukanpur, got the third prize and will be getting an Android tablet. However, as many as 1,655 entries were registered from SBS Nagar district for the AoH competition. While talking with Vijay Inder Singla, Gurwinder Singh said that he is very fond of singing and when he heard about AoH competition, he instantly decided to participate in it. He added that his parents, family members and teachers helped him a lot. Meanwhile, Preeti said, “I prepared a poem to make the people aware of coronavirus and recorded it over the phone to register my entry. It gave me immense pleasure when I came to know that my entry got second prize in the district.”Third position holder Gursimrat Kaur told the minister that she wants to be an astronaut and want to travel in space. Her father also thanked the cabinet minister for providing such a healthy platform for students during the lockdown. The first of its kind competition, AoH created a world record receiving over 1.05 lakh entries from school students in just eight days and it played a major role in ushering positivity in the state through school students and their families during Covid-19 pandemic.
