CHANDIGARH, JUNE 10,2018 ( By TNL Bureau): In a yet another major achievement, at least six budding players from Hockey Academy under Khalsa College Charitable Society (KCCS) found a place in the national hockey team as probable. The players were selected following intense training process and past performance by Hockey India and they will play for the country in the coming times.
KCCS honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who congratulated the girl athletes on their selection, said the girls including Prabhleen Kaur, Priyanka, Reet, Gurleen Grewal and Simran Chopra have been selected for Junior Team while Manpreet Kaur has been selected for the Senior Team. “This is a major achievement and after playing for the state and national events now they will represent the country in the upcoming competitions’’, said he.
Director Sports Dr. Kanwaljit Singh while applauding the efforts of the girl students said the players are leaving for Junior camp being organized at Bhopal while the camp for the senior team is scheduled at Bangluru from June 8. He said the budding athletes who have achieved a big opportunity to represent the country have already left for their respective camps.
Earlier China said the management was committed to promote the sports culture and create an outstanding infrastructure for sportspersons. He also extended words of appreciation for Director Sports, Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Chief Hockey Coach Baldev Singh and Assistant Coach Amarjit for their constant supervision and hard work which has led the team to this achievement.
