Fatehgarh Sahib, June 25, 2019: The Punjab government is fully committed for the rehabilitation of the drug addicts indulged in drugs and drug victims should step forward towards a drug-free life because drugs not only destroy personal life rather it also creates downfall in the social and economic status of a person. This was stated by SSP Amneet Kondal along with SP (D) Harpal Singh & DSP (HQ) Hardeep Singh while visiting the Rehabilitation center, OOAT clinics and drug de-addiction center at civil hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib.
SSP Kondal visited various wards at drug de-addiction, rehabilitation center and also interacted with the drug victims and motivated them to choose drug-free life rather than drugs so that they could live a better life with their family members. SSP said that a close watch will be kept on drug peddlers in the district and no drug peddling will not be tolerated. During this, she obtained detailed information about the diagnosis and medicines being provided to the drug victims. Drug victims also expressed their satisfaction towards medical facilities and made a commitment that for a starting normal life after getting complete treatment.
During the visit of Rehabilitation center and OOAT clinic, Fatehgarh Sahib she inspected the CCTV cameras installed and also directed the concerned officials to increase the number of cameras. Smt. Kondal also visited the psychiatric clinic at civil hospital and visited various wards and district counseling cells. She also motivated the patients being diagnosed here to live a better life and to say no to drugs.
During this Psychiatrist, Dr. Preetjot Kaur said that the drug victims are being diagnosed free of cost. She said that there are 7 OOAT clinics in the district which provide free treatment to drug victims, and the victim is not required to be admitted.
Civil surgeon Dr. Simarnjit Kaur motivated the drug victims to say no to drugs and to approach nearest OOAT clinics for their treatment. During this Psychiatrist, Dr. Manpreet Singh, Dr. Jasbir Singh, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Jagdish Singh, SMO Dr. Tarsem Khurana, Counselor Arvinder Singh and Vikramjit Singh were also present others.
