Deputy CM inspects the under-construction East Delhi Campus of GGSIPU in Surajmal Vihar to review progress
New Delhi, September 18, 2018 ( By SK.Vyas) The new state of the art East Delhi campus of Guru Gobind Singh IP University will be ready by November 2019.
Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia inspected the construction site on Tuesday and reviewed the progress being made.
The Deputy CM directed the officers and engineers that even if they have to work day and night, they must complete the project before the stipulated date of completion.
Thousands of students of the East Delhi campus will benefit from this beginning. Only 45% of the campus area is going to be covered by buildings, those too will be filled up with vertical gardens. 10% of the land will be for sports activities and 100 sq meters will be for parking.
The East Delhi Campus of IP University will cater to 1500 students. It will have courses like Bachelors in Architecture & Planning, Masters In Architecture & Planning, Bachelors in Design & Masters in Design ( 2 – 5 Yrs Duration).
East Delhi Campus will have Administrative Block, Academic Block, Sports Block & Auditorium. Apart from this, the heart of the campus is a computer centre cum library. 270 Boys & 180 Girls will have hostel facility.
There will be accommodation for staff and other workers as well. Equipped with rainwater harvesting and an in-house sewage treatment plant, the campus will have zero sewage output. Every building of the campus will have enough solar panels installed to ensure that the solar power generation compensates for all of the power consumption – zero net power consumption.
There will be 4 blocks of the academic building – Block A will be for Architecture & Planning, Block B will be for School Of Design, Block C will comprise of the Library, Computer Center & Administration and Block D would be Administrative Block.
