Two booked under PDPP Act for uprooting 246 trees and threatening forest guard

Ferozepur, December 4, 2019: The Ferozepur police have booked two persons for intimidating a forest guard in Zira sub division for uprooting 246 trees which were planted alongside the canal with an intention to encroach upon the land, under Sections 186, 353, 427, 506, IPC, and the Prevention to Damage to Public Property Act was registered against the accused at Zira Sadar police station. However, no arrest had been made till now.

The accused, identified as Gurdas Singh and Veer Singh, both residents of Shah Wala village. Inspector Jaswinder Singh, Investigation Officer, said when the complainant tried to stop them, Gurdas and Veer allegedly used foul language and threatened him.
