Fatehgarh Sahib. January.13, 2020: A delegation of the residents of Bassi Pathana town led by Gurpreet Singh GP MLA Bassi Pathana and Subhash Sood President District Congress Committee and Rajni Bala Tulani Vice President of Municipal Committee called upon Patiala MP Perneet Kaur and submitted a memorandum to her to get the civil hospital Bassi Pathana upgraded to 50 bedded hospital, which was downgraded during previous SAD (B) BJP regime from 25 bedded hospital to community health center.
Rajni Bala Tulani Vice President of Municipal Committee said that she has brought the matter to the notice of local MLA and he further led the delegation to Perneet Kaur MP and she assured to take up the issue with the health department.
MLA GP said that 25 bedded civil hospital of Bassi Pathana was constructed by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh and Yadvinder Singh, the great grandfather of Capt. Amrinder Singh CM, when Bassi Pathana was part of Princely State Patiala for the treatment of needy and poor.
He said, unfortunately, the civil hospital of subdivision level during the regime of previous SAD (B) BJP Govt. Instead of upgrading the civil hospital to 50 bedded was downgraded to a community health center, which affected the health facilities. He said it was a great injustice with the town, so they have submitted a memorandum to Perneet Kaur MP Patiala to get it upgraded to 50 bedded hospital. He said she has assured to get it done.
Subhash Sood President DCC said that they have also mentioned the deteriorating condition of the hospital building, doctor’s residences, and lack of Ambulance, specialist doctors, ladies doctor, surgeon, lab technician and Paramedical staff. The residents of the town and surrounding villages are unable to get medical treatment and they have to depend on private doctors, which common man can’t afford.
